What do Line Caught Tuna and Luchos have in common?

More than one might think..... Seas The Day !

Jess Rowe and Mims Payne arrived in Cairns at the weekend (18th October) having successfully completed their Pacific Rowing Challenge from Peru. In doing that, they became the first female crew to have achieved this remarkable feat, unsupported.

During their epic record breaking voyage, Mims and Jess were constantly reminded of how important their nutritional requirements were whilst rowing day in, day out, for almost 6 months. Supplementing the food they packed for their voyage, by catching fresh tuna, was clearly always going to help add much needed protein to their diet. As the image here clearly shows – fresh line caught Tuna!

At Luchos we are proud to have played a small part in by supplying them with our energy blocks to assist them in their crossing.

What they have accomplished is also boosted by the funds they have raised for the charity they rowed in aid of… The Outward Bound Trust. What could be more fitting?

Many many congratulations Jess and Mims. An incredible achievement.
