Colombia… more than we think.
Whenever we introduce our Lucho Dillitos sports energy bar to anyone – whether at a show, an event, or a casual ride or run with friends – we hear the inevitable jokes when they learn it is from Colombia.
Comments like “are you sure it’s legal?” or “have trouble at customs did you?” are made with a grin and we have often made the jokes ourselves in response to a raised eyebrow or questioning smile but there is so much more to Colombia than most of us know.
We are all aware to some degree of Colombia’s drug history and the problems associated with it and bad news is easy to find but the most interesting thing about my involvement with Lucho Dillitos has been discovering so much more about Colombia. As a cyclist and cycling fan I was aware of the arrival of Colombian cyclists on the European scene in the 80’s but knew little beyond that, in the last year that has changed. Over the coming months, I will be sharing some of what I have learned.
